I stumbled on a book on Amazon about making a compiler for .NET, seemed like a fun little book so I had a look at the reviews. There were only 2 UK reviews, one a one-star and another a five-star from the author himself - always a good sign. It's the US reviews where things got interesting, someone commented with some very specific criticisms and the author actually responded. Go have a read here.
I don't think I'll be buying the book...
